Warderick Wells (a special place)

Warderick Wells is the headquarters of the Exuma Land and Sea Park.  The park is 176 sq miles of land and sea.  They have trails on land and dinghy moorings at snorkel sites.  It’s really a beautiful place.  The water is crystal clear.  We had large Yellow Tail Jacks at the stern of the boat for several hours.

We went for a dinghy ride at sunset and were treated to something very special...a very large Spotted Eagle Ray lazily glided under the dinghy for a while.  It's wing span was at least 6 feet.  It was fantatstic...a rare treat!  We just rode along and watched.

We hiked up to Boo Boo Hill where cruisers leave signs and mementos carved into driftwood.  It was a great view and several of the pictures are below.  While there are no services, water, or trash disposal on the island, it has moorings and Wi-Fi.

Maybe we'll get some underwater pictures.

More later…
